Meet the Team
Reginald Pulliam
Founder, Co-owner
Born in Louisiana and raised in Oklahoma, Reginald "Reggie" Pulliam graduated high school in 2002 before attending Louisiana State University. He graduated LSU with a BA in history and a minor in African-American Studies and Sociology in 2008.
After college Reggie moved back to Oklahoma where he taught high school English. At 29, he got accepted to a criminal justice think tank in Washington, DC where he became a force for good trying to better our laws and communities. At the Criminal Justice Policy Foundation, he worked alongside leaders from all political walks of life, appearing on CSPAN and publishing articles in the Congressional Record (a Judicial subcommittee on the Overcriminalization of Americans), and attending various hearings and symposiums on national issues.
In April of 2016, Reggie opened Coastal Alabama Insurance in a closet sized office in Orange Beach, AL. From there to his final office in Gulf Shores, he worked through one natural disaster after another helping his community rebuild in the wake of those disasters, receiving regional and local awards along the way. In 2024, he sold the business to work on new endeavors, specifically Coastal Alabama Cooling, a home remodeling company, The Designery, and SuSu's New Orleans Kitchen, a restaurant brand in the UK where he hopes to inspire the Brits to love New Orleans cuisine, which was passed to him from his mother.
When he’s not working, he attends local sports events, chambers of commerce meetings, or charity events. You can find Reggie with his wife Cassie, a former schoolteacher turned swim instructor, and his wild man of a child, Austin, around our area enjoying life.
Richard Duckworth
Co-owner, Operations Manager
Born and raised in Baldwin County, Richard Duckworth graduated from Robertsdale High School in 2006. Also in 2006, Richard joined the U.S. Marine Corps as an Aviation Supply Specialist and was stationed in Cherry Point, NC.
During his time on active duty, Richard held a number of supervisory positions including, Airspeed NCOIC, where he and his team developed and improved processes in the warehouse, improving efficiency by an average of 30%; Receiving Dept Manager; where his team was awarded the most accurate inventory in the 2nd Marine Air Wing; and Supply Accounting Dept Manager; where he received a Navy/Marine Corp Achievement Medal for uncovering some $192,000 of unused travel monies. Richard attended Marine Corps Institute and Park University where he studied Accounting and Criminal Justice.
Leaving the Marines in 2012, Richard moved back to Baldwin County and started in the construction industry. From framing houses to hanging drywall, to pallet production, to maintenance at the Wharf’s Oasis, and even the Parks Dept at the City of Gulf Shores, Richard gained a wealth of experiences from many trades.
In 2015, Richard lived in a house with constant AC issues and after dealing with HVAC companies, he thought "Man, that looks way easier than drywall." (Boy, was he wrong.) So, he signed up for Fortis’ HVAC program and started at a Gulf Shores HVAC company.
From 2020-2022, Richard worked as a HVAC install crew leader at the largest HVAC company in the southeast, where his crew would install 6-8 HVAC systems a day!
When that company was bought out in 2023, Richard decided it was time to go on his own. Looking on indeed, Richard stumbled upon an ad looking for a HVAC Wizard who wants to start a company. After a meeting, Richard partnered with Luke, Matt and Reggie to manage Coastal Alabama Cooling and vowed to create the coolest company in South Baldwin!
When he’s not keeping the coast cool, Richard can be found hanging with his awesome wife, Jenni and their 5 kids.
Luke Turner
Lead Technician
Born in Foley and raised in Hoover until 4th grade before returning back to Foley. Luke Turner graduated from Foley High School in 2021. Luke worked at Chick-fil-A and then became a manager at a skate shop in Foley! After an amazing opportunity to pursue a career in the heating and air industry. Luke graduated from Bevill State Community College in October of 2022 with Alabama Power’s HVAC program.
In December of 2022, Luke partnered with Reggie Pulliam and Matt Holt to start Coastal Alabama Cooling! The business started growing quickly, providing HVAC service for Baldwin County and even projects for the Gulf State Park. The business started to expand the next year and in late 2023. To grow his knowledge, Luke began to apprentice under Richard Duckworth. By 2024, Coastal Alabama Cooling was able to become a full-service HVAC company!
When he’s not in the field, you can expect him to be with his girlfriend Blaise, who is an inventory and e-commerce manager at Beach Bum Outdoors. He will also be with their two cats Snape and Lily. Luke also enjoys caring for stray animals, fishing, thrift shop hunting and playing video games!
